How You Can Support Us
Partner With Us
We are grateful for the enduring partnerships we have with Creative New Zealand and Huia Publishers. We recognise that we must broaden our reach to transform the literary landscape of Aotearoa by continuing to identify and grow Māori writers.
By partnering with us, you are committing to a transformational change in Māori literature, building on the platform we have created for new and emerging Māori writers to be successful.
To start a conversation, please contact Gina Cole, our Head of Partnerships on 022 100 1400.
Give For Good
We have joined the whānau at The Good Registry. This incredible team has worked out how to help you experience the joy of giving and save the planet – one unwanted gift at a time.
The Good Registry allows you to buy someone a Gift Card – which can be exchanged for a donation to their charity of choice, or set up a Gift Registry – for a celebration you are having – and ask your guests, friends and whānau to donate to the Māori Literature Trust.
Payroll Giving is an opportunity to provide a koha to the Māori Literature Trust, directly from your pay. The Trust is a registered donee organisation with Inland Revenue. You will receive a tax credit of 33.33 cents for every dollar you donate.
Many organisations participate in Payroll Giving and if you would like to support the transformation of our literary landscape, to support more Māori writers then simply fill in this form and forward it along to your Payroll team.
Leave A Legacy
You can support us by leaving a gift (a bequest) in your will to the Māori Literature Trust.
Bequests are a thoughtful way to make a difference into the future. When you have made provisions for your whānau, a gift in your will can be a wonderful way to continue your commitment to Māori literature, supporting new and emerging Māori writers.
Your future gift will become a lasting tribute, transforming the literary landscape of Aotearoa – giving voice to Māori writers, with a story to tell.
Become a Fan
You know the whakatauki – kāore te kumara e korero mō tōna ake reka – the kumara doesn’t speak of its own sweetness.
You can simply support the Trust by being a fan and talking us up. Join us on social media, share our updates, talk about our programmes with friends and whanau, buy the latest collection of short stories from the 2021 Pikihuia competition, buy a book from one of our writers, introduce a Māori writer to your bookclub or attend a festival where a Māori writer is presenting.
