Taryn is a secondary school kaiako, writer and proud mother of five, her eldest having just turned 21 and her youngest still tormenting the sleep routines at home. She is a proud descendant of Tainui waka and has lived in many places, calling both Rotorua and the Hauraki Plains home. Taryn resides out West in Tāmaki Makaurau with her husband and children and would like to acknowledge Te Kawerau ā Maki me Ngāti Whātua ki Ōrākei as kaitiaki of the rohe.
Taryn has written for herself most of her life and is now venturing her words into the vulnerability of the ether. She tells stories that speak to the emotional side of life, hoping to tap into the grey spaces that make us feel something more than we thought we could.
