Formatting Guidelines 2015

Please do not include your name on your work, only on the entry form.

All entries must be typed, double spaced and on only one side of A4 paper.
Please note that entries must be original, your own work and not previously published or under contract.

Please do not exceed the word limits for the short story and novel extract categories. These are as follows:

  • Short Story written in English or Māori: 3000 words
  • Novel Extract: Three chapters long
  • Short Film Script: Short films are generally no longer than 40 minutes long. Following the formatting for film scripts below, one page of script should equal roughly one minute of screen time. Film scripts should generally be no longer than 40 pages.

Layout for Short Film Scripts Category
Please note – all work MUST be typed and MUST be in industry standard feature script layout.
